Starting with the builds themselves, they are well designed and have lots of detail. Both cameras have opening back hatches, one of then you can switch out the lens. They are sturdy so they don’t fall apart when building or playing with them. As for the process of building them, it is very well organized. It is divided into many bags, but you will only ever use 1 bag at a time and they set up so that each bag doesn’t take long to assemble. I put this set together in about 2 days with a lot of breaks. And at $80 is really a good cost for a set this sized, so definitely a great gift.
Building this set is a bit of a commitment, but the final result is well worth the extra effort. It is a long and rather complicated build, but shouldn’t pose any issues for adult builders as the instructions were clear and there were no missing pieces. The base is a big part of this set, but not really necessary in my opinion, as the camera bodies and lenses look great on the shelf by themselves. Would make a great gift for a photographer or for someone who enjoys taking pictures of their builds. Highly recommended.
This is such a unique build.
Bags are numbered and the instructions only add a few bricks at each each step. This makes if perfectly clear what should be added and where. Since the build is done in 3 dimensions (as opposed to builds that work vertically from the bottom up) it is important that the orientation of the model be clear. I found the illustrations to be very detailed and easy to follow.
The display stands are 3 separate pieces, which also is great so the finished models can be displayed in any way that you like.
I recommend this for anyone who has a collection of cameras they display – or as a gift for same.
