BEHIND THE SCENES – From Passion to Model: The Creative Journey of Nifeliz’s Camera Set

In every click of the shutter, a photographer immerses themselves in capturing the beauty of the world. A camera is not just a tool; it is an extension of the photographer’s soul. For photography enthusiasts, the feeling of holding a camera is unparalleled, connecting them with their creativity and passion. This is precisely where Nifeliz designer Harold found her inspiration – she decided to recreate this feeling through a buildable model.

Harold has been passionate about photography since childhood. She recalls the first time she held her father’s camera, the cold metal and complex buttons filled her with excitement and fascination. Over the years, this passion never waned. She wanted to share this sensation with others.

To achieve this, Harold embarked on an extensive research journey. She spent countless hours observing, analyzing, and experimenting, diving deep into the design elements of real cameras. Harold meticulously studied the grip and ergonomics of cameras, striving to capture the tactile experience photographers cherish when using their beloved equipment. She even visited professional photographers to understand their unique insights into camera design.

“Making a buildable model that offers this tactile experience was incredibly challenging,” Harold recalls the early struggles of the design phase. Through repeated trials and refinements, Harold finally succeeded in achieving remarkable realism in the models. But this was just the first step of her pursuit.

Harold was determined that the grip of the camera models should closely resemble that of their real-life counterparts. She wanted users to experience the familiar feel and connection that only true photography enthusiasts understand when assembling and holding these camera models. To achieve this, she continually pushed her design limits, aiming for perfection.

In her quest for authenticity, Harold explored the possibility of using building bricks to construct dual-tilt structures. Despite the inherent limitations of the model, especially in terms of functional display, Harold remained steadfast in her pursuit of realism. She refused to compromise on details, breaking boundaries to ensure every aspect was faithfully represented.

“Sometimes, I would lose sleep over a minor detail,” Harold laughs. Her dedication is the reason why Nifeliz consistently produces high-quality products.

To provide an immersive user experience, Harold drew inspiration from the common practice of lens swapping in photography. She wanted users to feel the excitement and anticipation that professional photographers experience when changing lenses. One of Harold’s camera models replicates a fixed focal length, maintaining authenticity. The second model introduces a lens-changing option, reflecting the versatility of professional camera equipment. Through this design, users can customize the camera model according to their preferences.

“When I see users proudly holding the camera models they built, with satisfied smiles on their faces, I feel all the effort was worth it,” Harold says. This camera model set is not just a buildable model but an extension of experience and emotion.

As Harold puts it, “If I can create emotional connections through my designs, I will feel it is very meaningful.” Her words reflect her passion and commitment throughout the design process, hoping to convey this emotion to every user through this product.
